"Trading Places" is the third single from Usher's fifth studio album, "Here I Stand". It was written by Usher Raymond, Carlos McKinney, and Terius Nash and produced by L.O.S. Da Maestro. The song is about intimate role reversal, where Usher wants his woman to take control sexually. Usher says that the song "was totally inspired by the work of Prince ", and that, "The story is, like, wishful thinking for all men to have a woman who takes control and compliments us the way we compliment them. The video was shot at Venice, Los Angeles, California, directed by Chris Robinson.
